I met with Rev. Mikey Noechel prior to Christa Pike’s 2026 execution attempt to hear how he was preparing for the day. He explained the Buddhist practice of Metta, or loving kindness meditation, that he introduced that to Christa early on in their relationship more than two years ago. It’s what he and Pike practiced on their way to her death and through the (failed) execution process.
